I received my BA in psychology at Knox College and my PhD from the University of Maine. I'm a social psychologist, but I've also got interests in personality and in the history of psychology. My scholarly research began with the study of physique stereotypes, meandered around a bit, and finally settled on the topic of authoritarianism. My most recent research has been on trust games, but I haven't published anything on that yet. I've taught at the University of Maine, Oregon State University, and Southwest Minnesota State University. In my spare time I play chess, and I have a USCF tournament rating of 1805.
